BACKGROUND: |
This year marks the fourth year that the devoted and energized runners representing the Quincy region will show their support for the patients at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The runners will begin their journey on Friday, Aug. 1, and run relay-style until they reach Peoria on Saturday, Aug. 2. Upon arrival, the Quincy runners will join St. Jude runners from Memphis, Tenn., and other running groups to help kick off the 2008 St. Jude Telethon. All money raised by a St. Jude runner goes toward research and treatment of children being cared for at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., and the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate in Peoria.
